Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone is one of the first national-level high-tech zones, the second national innovation demonstration zone and Wuhan area of China (Hubei) pilot free trade zone. In 2019, the GDP of the whole zone is 187.7 billion yuan, with an increase of 9.4% year on year, ranking first in Wuhan city. Large scale industries increased by 13.1% year on year, fixed assets investment increased by 12.8% year-to- year, industrial investment increased by 21.8% year-to- year, service industry increased by 9.6% year-to- year, and total retail sales of consumer goods increased by 9.9% year on year. Keeping "innovation Optical Valley", "prosperity Optical Valley" and "beauty Optical Valley" in mind will be able to push construction step by step. It is one of the top 10 world-class high-tech parks in China, and its comprehensive strength of Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone ranks the fourth among 169 national high-tech zones, among which the ability of knowledge creation and technological innovation ranks second place.

At present, there are 123,200 enterprises in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone, including 86,800 enterprises, 45 listed enterprises, 136 enterprises in new OTC market and 2,308 high-tech enterprises. Many well-known enterprises such as Huawei, Fiberhome, TCL, Humanwell Healthcare, XiaoMI, Douyu and others are gathered in our zone, they can also provide a good environment and platform for talents.
