      ·Johnson Controls-Saft has been selected by SAIC Motor Corporation – China's leading carmaker – to supply lithium-ion batteries for its demonstration fleet of new energy vehicles. The lithium-ion battery systems were delivered to SAIC's demonstration vehicles in early 2008. Early next year, we will begin production for the hybrid battery system for Chery Automobile's new A5 mild hybrid, which will be available to Chinese consumers next year. Combining the advantages of fuel and electric vehicles, this new car is low in emission and fuel consumption and also offers extremely high performance.

Lead-acid automotive batteries are one of the most highly recycled consumer products and we are positioned to be the leading supplier of lithium-ion battery technology for the next generation of hybrid vehicles.
