About ACRD

Autodesk China Research and Development Center (ACRD) is the largest worldwide product development center outside of USA. ACRD was created when Autodesk acquired Hanna Strategies, Ltd. (HSL) in January 2008 and combined it with the former Autodesk China Application Development Center (CADC), already in operation in Shanghai, China. The new name, Autodesk China Research and Development Center, was chosen to indicate that Shanghai will be a center for innovation, education, and cross-divisional projects and programs, along with traditional software development.

As an integral part of Autodesk's worldwide strategy, ACRD serves the following primary purposes:
• Hire, develop and retain top talent in China;
• Develop advanced and industry leading products for our worldwide market;
• Work with Chinese universities and research institutions in transforming Chinese talent global;

We're in China because we recognize that talent has no boundaries. ACRD has attracted many talents from all over China and abroad. Among the hundreds of employees at ACRD, 80% of them hold a Master's or Ph.D degree in computer science and/or other engineering disciplines. We are young, smart, creative, enthusiastic yet diligent group of people who welcome challenges, learn fast and contribute quickly. Our efficiency and quality of work are well recognized by many of the company executives. We're working on AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Map 3D, Autodesk Architectural Desktop, Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Maya, etc.

From its infant stage, ACRD has captured an incredible amount of attention from the organization,. Many corporate senior executives have visited ACRD, who gave guidance and support from all aspects. The range of products under development at ACRD has grown from a single mechanical product to multiple products from Architecture, Engineering & Construction Solutions, Platform Solutions and Emerging Business, Manufacturing Solutions Division, and Media & Entertainment Division. The Gun-Slinger event held at ACRD which bridged the gap between our product development and our customers, received very positive feedback.
With the initial success, divisions will further strengthen their teams at ACRD. The growth is also supported by local and worldwide teams from HR, Finance & Administration, facility, and IT.

Besides being a low cost and efficient development center that helps in the company's product development, ACRD has also caught local government and customers' attention. In 2005 Customer Day event, a local user jumped onto the stage and said, "with your application development center right in our neighborhood, we feel a lot more confident to invest in Autodesk products…"
