美铝（上海）铝业有限公司成立于 1995 年，由美国铝业公司和上海轻工设备（集团）有限公司共同投资。公司投资总额 7500 万美元，注册资本为 2500 万美元，其中美国铝业公司占股 60% 。2005年6月，美铝公司收购上海轻工设备持有的40%股权，美铝（上海）铝业有限公司成为美铝公司在华的独资企业。
Alcoa (Shanghai) Aluminum Products Co.,Ltd was founded in 1995, a joint venture between the world's leading producer of aluminum products - Alcoa Inc. - and Shanghai Light Industrial Equipment(Group) Company. Ltd. Total inwestment was USD75 millinon,and registered capital was USD 25 million, of which Alcoa held a 60% share. Alcoa Shanghai became a fully –owned subsidiary of Alcoa Inc. in june 2005 upon Alcoa's acquisition of the remaining 40% share of the business.
