This year is my 15th anniversary with Accenture which marks a significant milestone on my personal career path within the consulting industry. When I graduated from Jiaotong university 15 years ago, my objective was to find a job and a company that would provide me with a free, open environment and platform for capability development and career progression. Looking at the past 15 years within Accenture, I truly feel that I’ve made the right decision to be part of this global firm and global family which has given me more than what I’ve expected. I feel happy and lucky to have chosen Accenture as my first employer and am able to grow with the firm and become a senior executive.

Those who have worked in and are still working in Accenture are always impressed and motivated by the interesting and challenging work that we are doing, the value that we are bringing to our clients and the talented people that we are working with. I personally feel that the strong sense of achievement after all the hard work and the team collaboration bring me the greatest job satisfaction. I’m still enjoying this job because I wake up every day to take new challenges, create new ideas and deliver new solutions to our clients. I joined Accenture in July 2006 as an intern on Zhejiang Telecom Project. It was the biggest project ever in China. And more than 100 Accenture colleagues were on it. ‘Work hard and play hard’ is always Accenture encourages. We were on project for more than 10 hrs per day but we had a lot of fun activities organized by project management office as well. I enrolled in 2007 as an analyst. During the past two years, I have been to most cities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. All my clients are product companies, like ABInBev, Fiat etc. Accenture provides you the golden chances to look deep into different industries, and help you quickly grown up for business.

I joined the Core Analyst School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, April 2008. And there will be another training of Core Consultant School in the near future. Colleagues from the entire world will come to enjoy the training. We keep in touch through facebook after training, and fly to visit each other in business trips. Also frequent trainings like multiple ERP software boot camps, on line training specially designed for each consulting levels are provided.

Accenture is a perfect company for fresh outs. It has the most standard and matured training and working environments. And Accenture focus on individual capability rather than individual background. Project experience and feels
I joined Accenture as fresh graduate 6 years ago. Then, I started my challenge while exciting journey full of business travel, facing difference clients from different backgrounds and industries around china.
At the very beginning, I was told that consulting was more than a job; it would be a life style. It is definitely true especially with Accenture and I should say it is definitely a worthy life style. For 6 years, I have been surrounded by a big family, caring about your development, sharing tears/laughs with you and sharing experience and knowledge with you even when you are nobody.

Accenture is famous for its learning system. We have evolving core school system which equipping our people with key skills at each career milestone. It is also supported by on-job training and counselor system where on time feedback and counseling will be provided on day to day basis.

My advice to students: Thinking twice what you want from a career before you start it. Compensation, work-life balance and future career opportunity, all counts. Staying curious for new areas and enjoying every experience even it is “small thing” might help you live through Accenture life.
